Exciting News: A Dollar X Penny Pup has been certified as a FEMA Disaster Search Dog

Gentlemen,
We certified three new pups yesterday. Gunny and Bear from Beadle Retrievers and PD from Patriot Retriever Kennels certified in Phoenix yesterday. We built a new rubble pile and constructed a neighborhood that looked very much like Galveston Island after Ike. New areas, new victims, lots of bystanders and evaluators with clip boards everywhere added to the stress. All three dogs did extremely well and are now able to deploy with our TF...Arizona Task Force 1.
Unless you have witnessed a test and the difficulties involved it would be hard to explain. There is nothing natural about a dog climbing over rebar, rubble, 8' drop offs and finding people they have never seen before, but your three dogs made it look easy. There is passing at a bare minimum and do a really nice job. The dogs did very well!!!!!!
Hope this accomplishment brings you some pride and satisfaction that your hard work and expertise in breeding dogs is put to good use and appreciated!!!!!!!
Will be posting some pictures on our web site in a day or two. If you would like us to credit your kennels please let me know and send any pictures or logos you would like us to add. I mentioned before our FEMA Disaster Search Dog certification should be approved to be added on to their AKG pedigrees. As that moves to the final stages I will keep you updated. While to most people it is not a FC, AFC or NFC it is pretty close in our book. We feel it represents 2 years and two thousand hours of work...providing you start with an awesome dog!!!!
In Bear's case Pat Morrissey purchased Bear as a pup, brought him up through his first year and had all the baiscs down well before he was donated to Arizona Search Dogs.
